Our biggest project of the quarter, the pier project.
Near Cal Poly SLO is the Port San Luis Pier, shown below:
Our entire architecture morning studio was divided into 25 groups, each group assigned a different section of the pier. Our project’s motive was to measure, record, sketch the pier, and to recreate an exact replica to a scale of 1/4″. From there, we’d recreate our own design of the pier, according to its location and functionality.
The weekend we visited the pier with our groups, I took a lot of pictures (like a good architect) and created sketches/water colors.
After observation, designing, my group and I, based off my design, created our new section of the pier.
